Research Project iSUN

Presentation

United Nations defined a sustainable development goals gathered in 2030 Agenda. Some of those goals are related to health and reducing mortality caused by air pollution. One of the main factors is urban transportation. Cities have started to propose measures such as establishing zero emission zoned (ZEZ).

This project was proposed with those objectives described by UN in mind. A brief description is offered as follows:

We propose the novel design and development of a highly efficient and sustainable urban transport platform in charge of both, the public transport (PT) and refuse collection (RC) systems. Also, a smart PT platform for the optimal battery management of the fleet of PEH buses is proposed. This novel platform includes targeted air quality (ZE corridors) policies and a dynamic driving advisory system able to change the battery strategy in real-time.

In order to be able to carry on these researches a multidisciplinary team have been formed. Some of them are part of GOAL research group at Universidad de Cádiz. Acknowledgements: This project was supported by Spanish national call Retos Investigación [RTI2018-100754-B-I00].
